Espadrilles

A few months ago I found Juta Shoes on instagram. It is an amazing social project that combats financial and social isolation and make beautiful shoes.

As I worked in a leather company I have a lot of leather at home waiting to be something and I thought it would be interesting to learn how to do espadrilles, as it is a typical shoe from where I am from. So I booked a flight to London and went to the workshop.

It was a sunny day and the place was beautiful. We were in Spitafields City Farm surrounded by animals and plants. Definitely a place to visit if you are around Whitechapel.

The workshop lasted 3 hours and we had time enough time to finish one pair of espadrilles. Our teachers were amazing and very helpful. They gave us a bagel and a brownie from Brick lane’s famous bagel shop. It could not be better.
